So I had two problems:
- I had an avocado that was a few days old and past the stage where it can be cut up into slices, but I didn’t fancy making guacamole.
- Seeing as our winter seems to be never-ending here in the UK, I had dry skin that could really do with a boost.
The solution? The world’s easiest vegan avocado face mask!
Avocados are a vegan food favourite, and we already know how delicious they are, but did you know they are great for your skin too? They contain loads of healthy fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that your skin will just love! You can find out more about how awesome they are here.
After searching the internet for recipes, I was disheartened to find most of them contained honey. But then I realised, I replace all other honey recipes with agave nectar, so why not this? And, luckily for me, it worked!
1 tablespoon agave nectar
…and that’s it!
Mash up the avocado (I used a fork which worked fine) and then add the agave nectar. Leave on for 10-15 minutes (preferably while relaxing) and rinse off.
I loved the way this felt when it was on my skin. After a couple of minutes, I got that sensation you usually get with a face mask where you can feel it soaking in. And after rinsing off, my skin was noticeably brighter, and I felt like my blackheads were a lot less visible too?! Maybe an added bonus!
Enjoy! I’ll be posting more DIY vegan beauty recipes soon 🙂
